What to expect...
What to expect...
What might you expect as a guest at Martinsburg Mennonite? First of all, you can expect to be warmly welcomed!
Each week, our guests are greeted by people from the congregation, eager to welcome you and help you get oriented!
Worship begins at 10:30. We meet indoors in the sanctuary. If you are uncomfortable meeting indoors, or if you are not feeling well, you can listen from your vehicle via FM transmission. A typical worship service usually lasts for an hour to an hour and a half, and often follows a similar order*:
- Welcome and Announcements: learn about upcoming events and greet one another
- Singing: focuses our worship on the One who deserves our worship, Creator God! We sing hymns & contemporary songs
- Kid's Talk: every other week, children hear a special story of God's love, designed for younger audiences
- Sharing and Prayer: opportunity to share how we've seen God working in our lives, and prayer
- Offering: worshiping God with obedient and thankful hearts
- Singing: hymn or contemporary
- Morning teaching: offering insight into God's Word as understood in its historical context, adding practical application for today
- Singing: hymn or contemporary
- Closing Blessing: words of encouragement for living each day with Jesus at the center
*NOTE: The order of service may vary.
After our worship service officially comes to a close, many often stay a while longer to visit, supporting and encouraging one another for the days ahead!
Whether you are a follower of Jesus Christ, or you just want to know more about what it means to follow Jesus...MMC is a great place to be!
So, join us, and let's worship...together!
The Faith Journey Sunday school class for adults meets downstairs in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30.
